Everyone Has a Story to Tell: Inventing Narrative Paintings with Modern Tools
In this foundational, self-paced course, you'll learn a flexible method for inventing meaningful narrative paintings from the ground up.
You'll work from your own photos and memories, and gather inspiration from art history and contemporary painters.
We’ll work in Photoshop to create a structured composition and then in gouache to test out our ideas in paint.
This course is perfect for painters who want to be more intentional in designing their paintings, especially those who are just getting started or returning to the studio.

Big Stories: Painting Large Scale from Photo References
In this live course you'll learn how to scale up your photo references, collage or study to create a large scale narrative painting - without grids or a projector.
I'll help you build your reference collage before the first session. Then, we'll create a drawing guide in Photoshop, talk through composition, and dive into large-scale painting, building structure as the painting progresses.
Whether you're building on the last course or starting fresh, you'll leave with a clear, repeatable process for making narrative paintings at large scale - plus inspiration and strategies for navigating common challenges of painting large scale.
